FAQ and Resources
Who is the ISO 37001 Anti-bribery Management System Auditor Training suitable for?
It is intended for professionals working in anti-bribery, compliance, ethics, risk management, legal, finance, procurement, management systems and auditing who wish to participate in first-, second- or third-party audits under ISO 37001.
What is the primary objective of the training?
The objective is to enable participants to assess ISO 37001 requirements from an auditor’s perspective and conduct Anti-bribery Management System audits systematically, impartially, using a risk-based approach and based on objective evidence.
Which areas are assessed during an audit?
The organisation’s context, leadership, anti-bribery culture, bribery risk assessment, compliance function, employees and business associates, due diligence, financial and non-financial controls, conflicts of interest, gifts and hospitality, donations, sponsorships, reporting mechanisms, investigations, performance evaluation and continual improvement processes are assessed.
What is the difference between Internal Auditor Training and Auditor Training?
While Internal Auditor Training focuses primarily on first-party audits within an organisation, Auditor Training covers first-, second- and third-party audit approaches, management of the audit programme, the work of the audit team and the more comprehensive auditor competencies required for certification audits.
Why is bribery risk assessment important in an audit?
Bribery risk assessment provides the basis for identifying the organisation’s activities, transactions, countries, business relationships or processes that present a higher risk of bribery. The auditor assesses the scope, methodology and currency of the risk assessment and whether controls appropriate to the identified risks have been implemented.
Is due diligence assessed during an audit?
Yes. ISO 37001 requires due diligence to be conducted on transactions, projects, employees and business associates at certain risk levels. The audit assesses whether due diligence is applied proportionately to the risk, consistently and appropriately.
Why is ISO/IEC TS 17021-9 important?
ISO/IEC TS 17021-9 supplements the requirements of ISO/IEC 17021-1 and defines specific competence requirements for personnel involved in the audit and certification of Anti-bribery Management Systems in areas such as bribery concepts, legal requirements, risk assessment, due diligence and anti-bribery controls.
Is the training practical?
Yes. The training includes practical exercises involving bribery risk scenarios, due diligence, business associate assessments, conflicts of interest, financial and non-financial controls, audit planning, interviewing, sampling, evaluation of objective evidence, writing nonconformities and preparing audit reports.
