Overview
ISO 46001 Water Efficiency Management Systems Internal Auditor Training has been designed to provide participants with the knowledge and auditing skills required to assess the conformity and effectiveness of an organisation’s Water Efficiency Management System, systematically examine water use and consumption processes, and conduct internal audits based on objective evidence.
The training is based on the current requirements of ISO 46001:2019 and ISO 46001:2019/Amd 1:2024, together with the guidance provided in ISO 19011:2026 for management system audits. ISO 46001 aims to enable organisations of all types and sizes that use water to manage water efficiency systematically and improve water performance through the approach of reduction, substitution with alternative sources and reuse.
The language of the training is Turkish. The training is delivered online.
About the Training
The training covers the structure of the ISO 46001 standard, the context of the organisation, leadership, water policy, water use review, significant water uses, water baseline, water efficiency performance indicators, risks and opportunities, objectives and action plans, operational controls, water reduction, use of alternative sources and reuse, monitoring and measurement, data analysis, performance evaluation, ISO 19011:2026 auditing principles, internal audit planning, collection of objective evidence, reporting of nonconformities and follow-up of corrective actions.

FAQ and Resources
Who is the ISO 46001 Water Efficiency Management Systems Internal Auditor Training suitable for?
It is intended for professionals working in water efficiency, environmental management, sustainability, production, technical maintenance, facility management, quality, risk, compliance and management systems, or those who will serve as ISO 46001 internal auditors.
What is the main objective of the training?
The main objective is to enable participants to evaluate the ISO 46001 Water Efficiency Management System systematically and objectively and to conduct effective internal audits in accordance with ISO 19011 principles.
Which areas are evaluated during an internal audit?
The organisation's context, water policy, water use, significant water uses, water baseline, performance indicators, risks and opportunities, objectives, operational controls, metering and measurement systems, water losses, alternative sources, reuse, performance evaluation and continual improvement processes are evaluated.
Why is an ISO 46001 internal audit conducted?
An internal audit is conducted to evaluate whether the Water Efficiency Management System conforms to the requirements established by the organisation and the requirements of ISO 46001, whether it is effectively implemented and whether it supports the improvement of water performance.
Why are the water baseline and performance indicators important in an audit?
The water baseline and water efficiency performance indicators help the organisation measure its current water performance and compare changes over time. The internal audit evaluates whether these indicators have been appropriately established, whether they are up to date, whether the data used are reliable and whether they are used effectively to monitor performance.
Should ISO 46001:2019/Amd 1:2024 be taken into account during an internal audit?
Yes. The internal audit should verify that the organisation has determined whether climate change is a relevant issue within its context and has considered the climate change-related requirements of relevant interested parties.
Does the training include practical exercises?
Yes. The training includes exercises involving the evaluation of water use and consumption data, identification of significant water uses, performance indicators, water loss and leakage scenarios, internal audit planning, checklist preparation, objective evidence gathering, interviewing, observation, sampling and writing nonconformities.
Is there an examination at the end of the training?
Yes. An assessment examination is administered at the end of the training.
